HRESULT GetSNMP(LPBOOL pRetVal);
Using SNMP, you can monitor Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 across different platforms (for example, Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0, Microsoft Windows® 98, and UNIX). SNMP applications can be used to monitor the status and performance of instances of Microsoft SQL Server, explore defined databases, and view server and database configuration parameters.
Note If an application calls SNMP on an instance of SQL Server version 7.0, the constant, SQLDMO_E_SQL80ONLY, and the message "This property or method requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000" are returned.
