Changes and Enhancements in MDAC 2.6

This release of MDAC 2.6 introduces several changes and enhancements to the SDK. See individual technology sections, listed at the end of this topic, for more detailed information about what's new.

Enhanced ADO Programmer's Guide Documentation

Conceptual and tutorial topics for ADO have been written or reorganized into a comprehensive ADO developer's guide.

Enhanced ADO Code Example Topics

The examples have been expanded to contain additional examples written in VBScript and JScript.

Additional ADO Samples

Several new ADO samples have been added with this release.

Changes to OLE DB Samples

The Rowset Viewer sample has been updated for the row object and direct binding interfaces. It also now handles multidimensional data functions for developers using OLE DB for OLAP.

The OLE DB Query Demo sample has been deleted from this release of MDAC.

Changes to OLE DB Test Tools

The Trace Provider tool has been removed from MDAC pending further development. It was offered as a beta preview for MDAC 2.5.

ODBC Desktop Database Drivers

The ODBC Desktop Database Drivers have been removed from the MDAC SDK and the MDAC Redist.
