Remarks

INSTEAD OF triggers are executed instead of the triggering action. INSTEAD OF triggers can also be defined on views, in which case they extend the types of updates a view can support. Each table or view can have one INSTEAD OF trigger for each triggering action (UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT).

Note  If an application calls InsteadOfTrigger on an instance of Microsoft® SQL Server™ version 7.0, the constant, SQLDMO_E_SQL80ONLY, and the message "This property or method requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000" are returned.
