How to create a user-defined event error message (Enterprise Manager)
To create a user-defined event error message
- Expand a server group.
- Right-click a server, point to All Tasks, and then click Manage SQL Server Messages.
- Click the Messages tab, and then click New.
- In the Severity list, click the severity level.
- In the Message text box, enter the new event message.
The maximum number of characters is 255.
- Select the Always write to Windows eventlog check box to write the event message to the Microsoft® Windows® application log.
